Garmin Nuvifone mixes smart-phone and Sat-Nav Garmin have teamed up with Asus the laptop developers to bring us the world’s first decent attempt at a sat-nav smart-phone. Garmin-Asus are hoping that their joint effort at bringing us a sat-nav smart-phone will really lay the other efforts to rest. If you want to compare mobile phones, then there’s not much to compare this one too as there have been very few phones similar to this model.
One thing there is to compare this model too is the previous effort of the iQue way back when they tried integrating Windows Mobile and the Palm OS. This iQue was released so so many years ago, when you needed to whip out an antenna on the back of the handset for the GPS to work, around 2004/2005 time.
The latest mobile phones may well be better than this particular model but do they have the sat-nav capabilities that this one does. But then the other argument is does this model have the same phone capabilities that the like of a HTC or a Blackberry would have? You can be almost certain that you will not be getting a free mobile phone as I have no doubt that Garmin-Asus will be looking to rake in as much cash as they can on top of their earnings from the sat-nav’s that they sell worldwide as Garmin become more and more popular above the likes of TomTom sat-navs.
